The premier game reserve in the whole of Africa. This is where the Great Wildebeest take splace.

South of Nairobi.Small and busy in the shadow of mt. Kilimanjaro (the highest in Africa) This is elephant country but you will also find hyenas, buffalo, zebras,Hippos and giraffes.

The only park in the world next to a city. You can actually take a detour right from Airport. You will find giraffes, lions, zebras, cheetahs, black rhino, wildebeest etc.

Peaceful and wonderful park north of mount Kenya. Leopards elephants, Reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, gerenuk, beisa oryx, cheetah lion crocodiles etc.

West of Nairobi, one of the rift valley lakes lake nakuru is a soda lake and home to huge flocks of flamingos, pelicans, vervet monkeys, Rothschild giraffe, Baboons, lions, leopards etc.

Coastal forest, home to golden-rumped elephant shrews, aders duiker , birds, Butterflies.

Small reserve adjacent to samburu but with more varied terrain. Here you find Reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Somali ostrich, lions, giraffe, crocodiles, beisa oryx, Gravy zebra etc.

In Central Kenya. Forest and montane grassland. Plentiful elephants,buffalos black Rhino, bongo antelope, giant forest hog etc.

• History

• It began with a group of explorers at a historic campfire in Yellowstone, USA in 1870. They decided the area had such natural beauty it should be made a "public park for the benefit and enjoyment of the people". Two years later in 1872 the government passed a bill authorizing such use and the words "National Park" came into official use.
• Canada followed protecting their hot springs at Banff in 1885.
• National Trust of Great Britain was founded in 1895 to conserve places of national interest.
• Laponia National Reserve Sweden was established in 1909.
• President Paul Kruger of South Africa created the first African game reserve in Africa in 1892. This was called the Sabi Game Reserve, which later became the Kruger national Park.
• Nairobi National Park was Kenya's first 1946.
