AMBOSELI NATIONAL PARK
This Park lies 240km south-east of Nairobi at the foot of Africa's highest mountain, Mt. Kilimanjaro. This snow-capped mountain dominates every aspect of Amboseli. Despite its small size(397 sq kms) and its fragile ecosystem, it supports a wide range of mammals (over 50 of the larger species) and birds (over 400 species). Amboseli is still one of the most popular parks in Kenya. Years ago this was the location where such famous writers as Ernest Hemingway and Robert Ruark penned their stories of big-game hunting in the wilds of Africa.
MAJESTIC MT. KILIMANJARO
Amboseli had a long conservation history but attained full Park status in 1974 and it covers a area of about 392sqkm.
